The Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award recognizes an outstanding staff member who has contributed to the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry's vision, mission and values. The Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award is funded by former University of the Pacific Vice President for Business and Finance Patrick Cavanaugh and his wife Janita. The winner of this award receives:

The nomination period for the Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award begins Monday, September 14. All members of the Pacific School of Dentistry community are encouraged to make nominations. Nomination forms must be completed for each nominee (link to nomination form below), and must be accompanied by 2 (no more than 3) letters of support from members of the Pacific community. A nomination form should not be used as a letter of support. Nominations for individuals must include specific examples that demonstrate:
Completed nomination packets should be returned to the Human Resources office (4th floor, suite 406) by Friday, October 9. Nominations will be reviewed and a winner chosen by a selection committee made up of past winners of the Cavanaugh award. The winner will be announced in early December.
