How To Update Your Wireless Driver

To update your wireless driver:

  1. Click the link in the Downloads section on this page.   This will bring up a window, showing the download file.
  2. Click the Run button to start the download.
  3. When the download completes, (this should take about 10 seconds) you will be presented with new window asking if you want to run the software. Click Run>Continue>OK>Yes. The software will begin the unzip process.
  4. Click OK to go to the next window. You should see a message: "All files were successfully unzipped".
  5. Click Next on the Welcome window and the installation will begin.
  6. You will see the InstallShield Wizard Complete window. Uncheck the View Readme file, then click Finish to complete the installation.

The last thing that you should do is to verify that you are not using Dell's Wireless Utility to manage your Wireless connection.

  1. First close Windows Explorer.
  2. Click Start>All Programs>Dell Wireless, then click on Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility. Alternatively, you can right-click on the green icon on the taskbar on the lower right corner next to the system time, then click on Open Utility). This should open up to the Wireless Networks tab.
  3. Verify that the first box ("Let this tool manage your wireless networks") is unchecked.
  4. If it is checked, uncheck it, make sure that you click Apply, then click OK to close the window.
