Dr. Marc Geissberger began teaching at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry as a clinical instructor in 1991, immediately after earning his doctor of dental surgery degree from the dental school. Three years later, he was appointed course director for dental anatomy and also received his master's degree from Pacific's Benerd School of Education.
During his career at the dental school, Geissberger is credited for initiating innovative programs, instituting curricular changes, both academically and clinically, as well as creating a group practice mentor model. He established several special programs and events, including Excellence Day, an annual event that showcases students' clinical cases; Future Educators' Night, a program for current students considering a career in dental education; and the school's aesthetic dentistry clinic.
In addition to his role as lead administrator for the Department of Integrated Reconstructive Dental Sciences, he serves as treasurer of the Alumni Association and maintains a private practice in Greenbrae, California. Geissberger is a member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity and Tau Kappa Omega honor society. He is the co-author of a book about esthetic dentistry titled Esthetic Dentistry in Clinical Practice and has lectured across the globe.
