All graduating students must receive an Authorization to Begin Closeout Process form from their Group Practice Leader (GPL). The authorization form is a checklist of items students must complete to clear from the school. Each student should return the form to the GPL, who will then inform the student when to pick up the closeout form from Robert Kim, Business Office, cube 4B22.
Each student must have completed the closeout process prior to commencement in order to receive a diploma.
Students will receive an email to complete a survey to participate in commencement and to order their regalia. Below in downloads are step-by-step instructions to order. There is no charge to students to rent the academic regalia (cap, gown, hood, and tassel). Regalia can be purchased for approximately $508.95 for DDS students, $281.95 for hygiene students.
If you did not pick up your regalia on the distribution days, please come to Academic Affairs, section 4A, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Students may invite their parents who are dentists or alumni of the Dugoni School of Dentistry to participate in their on-stage hooding as they walk the stage to receive their diploma.
Each graduate receives his or her diploma alphabetically within the respective degree program. To ensure that candidates get the correct diploma and that the proper name is read, each candidate is assigned a specific seat. Below are diagrams of the Masonic Auditorium and seating assignments:
