"Emerging Trends in Periodontics and Immunology"

The morning course will begin with a case series of periodontal and implant patients for treatment planning. Many factors of patient management will be discussed. Surgical and nonsurgical approaches will be highlighted as well as risk factors for other systemic diseases. In the afternoon, Dr. Suzuki will discuss how immune mechanisms play an increasingly important role in medicine and dentistry. Current information about genetics and epigenetics will be presented. These courses are designed for dentists and dental hygienists.

In Part I, Dr. Ruddle will review the rationale for treatment; demonstrate through clinical videos how to create straight-line access, including finding, following and filling anatomically difficult canals; and show breakthrough concepts and instruments for glide path management. Part II will include descriptions on how to use a new revolutionary single-file technique for predictably shaping the vast majority of all canals, emphasize the latest simple-to-use methods to promote "active" irrigation and disinfection, and identify the most recent advances in 3-D obturation.
