Current advances in endodontics, including microscopic magnification and 3-D imaging, have improved our ability to provide the best possible patient care. This presentation will begin with a concise review of classic and current endodontic literature on treatment outcomes. An evidenced-based treatment planning approach will be provided to the practitioner to determine the most predictable solutions. In addition, a series of cases will be presented for further explanation.

  • The differential diagnosis of the pulp and periradicular diseases and treatment planning
  • The importance of asepsis and infection control in endodontic treatment 
  • Advances in nonsurgical endodontic treatment and its long-term outcome
  • Advances in endodontic surgery and its long-term outcome

This program is designed for dentists and allied dental professionals interested in endodontic treatment techniques.

Faculty

Keivan Zoufan, DDS, MDS is an assistant professor responsible for the postdoctoral training of endodontics in Pacific's AEGD program. He received his DDS degree from the University of Southern California Ostrow School of Dentistry, followed by advanced endodontic training at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Zoufan maintains a private practice in Cupertino, California.
