Interest in Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) is growing worldwide, and the approach is now incorporated in the curriculum of most dental schools. Caries risk assessment is a new paradigm that focuses on minimally invasive strategies that emphasize oral biofilm, demineralization and remineralization as key to controlling the caries disease process. Dr. Wong will present the most recent information on CAMBRA, testing methods and treatment strategies, with an emphasis on treatment planning for longevity of restorations and using a minimally invasive approach.

Allen Wong, DDS, EdD, is director of Pacific's Union City Dental Care Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry and has extensive experience in providing dental care to patients with disabling conditions and medical problems. He has staff appointments at California Pacific Medical Center, Kaiser of San Francisco, Highland Hospital and UCSF.
