The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry appointed Dr. Nader Nadershahi '94 as associate dean for Academic Affairs on Aug. 11. Nadershahi is responsible for all of the school's academic programs, as well as the development and promotion of students and faculty.
"Dr. Nadershahi understands the needs of dental education, and his vision for the future makes him ideal for this position," said Dean Patrick J. Ferrillo, Jr. "I look forward to working with him to continue the Dugoni School's legacy as a leader in dental education."
Nadershahi has been a faculty member at the dental school for more than 14 years. Prior to his current appointment, he served as chair of the department of dental practice and as a clinical group practice administrator. In addition to his role at the dental school, Nadershahi owns and operates a private general dentistry practice in San Anselmo, Calif., with his wife, Nilou '91.
Nadershahi is the recipient of several honors and awards, including the American College of Dentists Northern California Distinguished Faculty Member Award and the Phi Kappa Phi Academic Achievement Award. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Nadershahi is an alumnus and past president of the American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute. He is currently completing a doctorate degree in professional education and leadership from Pacific's Benerd School of Education and holds a master's degree in business administration from Pacific's Eberhardt School of Business.
