The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry is once again the recipient of top awards from two national dental organizations: the American Student Dental Association and the American Association of Dental Editors.

ASDA honored the dental school with the Ideal ASDA Chapter Award for Outstanding Membership and Communication, during its 38th annual session in Scottsdale, Arizona, on August 29. ASDA also selected the dental school's quarterly newspaper, The Articulating Paper, as the top student newsletter among competing U.S. dental schools.

In addition, the American Association of Dental Editors honored The Articulating Paper with its 2008 Meskin Journalism Award, which recognizes student dental publications for overall excellence in publishing, including editorial content and design.  This marks the second time in five years the publication has earned the award.

Now in its seventh year of publication, The Articulating Paper is a student-run and student-produced quarterly newsletter created to update the dental school community about student affairs and activities. The Articulating Paper co-editors Jamie Parado and Marisa Watanabe will accept the award during the AADE Annual Dental Editors Luncheon in San Antonio, Texas, on October 16.

"Being recognized among so many other publications is an incredible honor," said Parado, class of 2009. "The Articulating Paper is really a result of strong teamwork and it's great to share this achievement with everyone who was involved with the newsletter."
