Walking south along the Embarcadero, visitors get a closeup look at one of the main routes into the city. Completed in 1936 and predating the more famous Golden Gate Bridge by several months, the Bay Bridge links the East Bay to the City. In the foreground stands the sculpture “Cupid’s Span” by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.
