Oral Surgery
This program will provide variable exposure in several primary areas of concern in office oral and maxillofacial surgery including: clinical decisions involving the physical and psychological evaluation of the older patient on medications; how certain medical disorders can affect vital signs and surgical procedures and what to look for; the use of elevators and forceps, the latest surgical instruments, handpieces, inhalation sedation equipment, and common surgical and post-surgical complications. Alternative topics include surgical extraction techniques and when to utilize, impactions - diagnosis, surgical procedures and techniques, biopsy procedures, pre-prosthetic surgery for the general practitioner, and emergencies in the dental office.

and has been the course director for
the Oral Surgery Personalized Learning
Experience Program (PLEP) at Pacific
for the last twenty three years. He is also director of undergraduate OMFS education. |
