The Very Latest in Dental Pharmacology & Therapeutics
Dr. Levy will present three topics focusing on
dental therapeutics: (1) Modern concepts in the drug management of
acute and chronic pain. (2) Drug-Drug interactions in dentistry.
(3) Oral manifestations of systemic drugs. His discussions will highlight
the rational choice of an analgesic, the role of NSAIDs in management
of oral-dental pain, frequently encountered drug interactions seen
with commonly prescribed dental agents, and finally survey some of
the common and uncommon oral-dental manifestations caused by medical
and dental administered medications. ( Single, double or triple
topic available ).

Physiology

Dr. Joseph Levy is
Professor and Chairperson of Physiology
and Pharmacology at Pacific School of
Dentistry. He has published over 130 articles
and book-chapters dealing with his specialty
of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He is
a member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics,
and Drug Formulary Committees of California
Pacific Medical Center located near the
Pacific campus in San Francisco. In addition,
Dr. Levy served a ten year appointment
on The Expert Advisory Panels of the United
States Pharmacopoeia (USP). Dr. Levy has
been principal speaker at over 300 continuing
education courses and meetings. Dr. Levy
has been the recipient of six Excellence
In Teaching Awards from Pacific and its
