Ethics and Managed Care
This workshop includes the application of bioethics theory to specific cases
in managed care dentistry and health care. Pitfalls and guidelines are
discussed as a way to decide about managed care and prepare for the future. This
workshop includes a brief introductory lecture where participants become actively
involved in discussion and reflection.
California Law and Professional Ethics
This is a 3 unit continuing education course designed to meet the California
State Board of Dental Examiners requirement for license renewal. It
includes:
- scope of practice
- requirement for renewal of a license
- use of auxiliaries in a dental practice
- laws governing the prescribing of drugs
- acts in violation of the Dental Practice Act
- selected ethical issues
This course will provide an overview and review
of the 1994 edition of the Dental Practice Act.
Executive Coaching for Dentists
Individual consultation is available for dentists who wish to examine their
present interpersonal and organizational effectiveness on a one-to-one
basis. Ongoing assessment and coaching takes place within the context of
the dentist's practice. By arrangement.

Dr. Bruce Peltier is
Associate Professor of Psychology at the
University of the Pacific. He is course
director of Ethics Education and teaches
communication and behavior sciences at
the dental school. He is a licensed clinical
psychologist and a licensed marriage,
family, and child counselor. He also maintains
an executive coaching practice. |
