Dr. Alan H. Gluskin has been a full-time faculty member at the dental school for nearly three decades. A 1972 graduate of the dental school, Gluskin received his endodontic certification from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1976.
Gluskin is a fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, where he recently served on the Educational Affairs and Research and Scientific Affairs committees. He also led a committee to develop the dental school's strategic plan, Advancing Greatness.
Gluskin serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Endodontics, the International Journal of Endodontics and the Journal of the California Dental Association. He is co-editor of the textbook Decision Making in Dental Treatment Planning and contributed to the sixth edition of Ingle's Endodontics.
Dr. Gluskin is currently on the Executive Board of Directors of the American Association of Endodontists as secretary.
Dr. Ove Peters came to the dental school in 2007 after holding faculty positions in Heidelberg, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland, as well as at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his postgraduate education in endodontics at the University of Zurich and UCSF and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr Peters has wide-ranging research interests and maintains a laboratory at the dental school. He has published more than 100 manuscripts and abstracts related to endodontic technology and biology and has contributed to several leading textbooks. He is an associate editor for the International Endodontic Journal and Endodontic Topics and serves on the review panel of several leading dental journals.
Dr Peters has received various awards in his career, among them the Hans Genet Award of the European Society of Endodontology and more recently the Louis I. Grossman Award of the American Association of Endodontists.
His main scientific interests are the cleaning and shaping of root canal systems and the behavior of dental stem cells.
In addition to research Dr Peters is active in undergraduate and postgraduate education, specifically in the development of digital media for teaching purposes and the assessment of their effectiveness.
