Dear Class of 2008, Congratulations on a job well done!  I look forward to greeting you on stage as we celebrate your achievements during the 114th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, June 15 at the Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco. It is a special pleasure for me to commemorate this occasion with the Class of 2008. On behalf of myself and the dental school faculty and staff, I want to thank you for the opportunity you have given us to be part of your life.

You have indeed proven to be the best and the brightest.  As alumni, you can help maintain the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry as the leading school in dental education.  As an oral health provider, you can have a positive affect on the lives of your patients and help impact the communities in which you live and practice.  Special thanks to the faculty, staff and administration for their commitment to quality education and for graduating such an outstanding group of men and women.

You are entering the profession at an exciting and unique time.  Changes in licensing, dental materials and techniques, and patient demographics will continue to shape the profession in the next decade.  The need for oral health care continues to grow.  I wish you the best as you embark on your career in this dynamic profession.  During the coming years, I look forward to seeing you at the many events celebrating the school’s accomplishments.
