Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, is dedicated to the recognition and promotion of academic excellence in all disciplines and is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary honor society in existence. This highly selective honor society has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Philippines. The Pacific chapter of Phi Kappa Phi was chartered in 1951. A select number of graduating students are admitted to this honor society by invitation only, and membership criteria include superior scholarship and good character. The name Phi Kappa Phi comes from the Greek words: "Philosophia Krateito Photon," or "Let the love of learning rule humanity." For more information, visit this website
