Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry Dean Nader A. Nadershahi is helping to shape the future of healthcare through a new leadership role.
He recently accepted an invitation to become a member of the influential Santa Fe Group, a group of internationally renowned scholars and leaders from business and the professions bound by a common interest to improve oral health. The mission of the Santa Fe Group is to foster policy and initiate actions to improve the health and wellbeing of the public. It accomplishes this mission by analyzing and disseminating health program and policy information, by creating networks of concerned citizens from all walks of life, and developing advocacy programs to promote change for improved health.
The Santa Fe Group has a long history of advocacy and leadership in the areas of domestic and international health policy, science, education and practice. It focuses on leadership, public empowerment, optimum and integrated care for all, workforce readiness, dental capacity and health policies.
"It's is an honor to be involved with this group of creative and interdisciplinary leaders focused on solving some of the most important issues in oral healthcare," said Dean Nadershahi. "Our purpose at the Dugoni School is to help people lead healthier lives and I look forward to engaging with colleagues and supporting partnerships that will allow us to achieve this purpose and benefit society at large."
The Dugoni School has a long history of involvement in the Santa Fe Group. Dr. Elisa Chavez, associate professor at the Dugoni School, currently serves as a Senior Founders Fellow and Dean Emeritus Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni, a co-founder of the Santa Fe Group, is an Emeritus Member of the organization.
