The Pacific Center for Orofacial Disorders is a faculty practice with advanced training in the diagnosis and management of orofacial pain. We strive to provide services that are (1) based on current research, and (2) as conservative as possible.
Our clinic focuses on a variety of painful conditions. Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) involve pain of the jaw joints and associated muscles. Other conditions present with sharp, shooting, radiating, burning, throbbing, aching, tingling, or simply odd sensations, particularly in or around the mouth. We diagnose and manage such conditions when your dentist has decided there is no clear dental cause for your pain. We maintain good communication with your dentist, and work with other specialists when needed.
This is a faculty-run center with fees comparable to other professional centers. The initial examination fee is $400 (in the majority of cases, subsequent visits are at a significantly lower fee). X-rays, if needed, are charged separately. Payments are due at the time of each visit. Services are billed under medical insurance plans. Insurance paperwork can be filled out for your convenience. Patients are advised to bring all related medical information to the initial visit. We accept major credit cards.

How to Get to Pacific >>
Pacific Center patients may self-refer or be referred from private practice and hospital-based dental and medical professionals. All patients are seen by appointment only. Please contact the Pacific Center at 415.929.6611 to schedule an appointment. Our friendly staff members provide patients with information to make their visit a satisfying experience.
Patients will receive a comprehensive evaluation by a dentist who maintains the status of Diplomate, American Board of Orofacial Pain. Please allow approximately one hour for this visit. Based on the findings from the initial visit, the doctor will order appropriate tests/studies and make any necessary referrals. Prior to initiating treatment, information from the initial examination, referrals and testing will be reviewed with the patient.
