Ana Carolina Morandini is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at University of the Pacific, Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry. She earned her DDS degree in 2006 from the University of São Paulo — Bauru School of Dentistry, Brasil and completed an externship program in the Department of Periodontology of the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry as a senior dental student. She completed her Masters in Periodontics (2009) and PhD in Oral Biology (2012) at the University of São Paulo — Bauru School of Dentistry. In 2013, she completed her first post-doc at the Immunophysiology Laboratory of the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics (IBCCF) — Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Prior to joining the Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2016, she was a visiting researcher at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Department of Oral Health Sciences.
Dr. Morandini's research is currently focused on the study of host-pathogen interactions, innate immunity and inflammation in the oral microenvironment.
