Dugoni School to Co-Present Weekly “COVID-19 and Your Health” Online Series

Virtual event for Pacific community presented in partnership with pharmacy school and health sciences school

Wondering what COVID-19 means for your health? Looking for informed science-based updates and insights on the pandemic? The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry is partnering with the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Pacific’s new School of Health Sciences to present a weekly hour-long program, “COVID-19 and Your Health.” The program will be available to members of the Pacific community every Tuesday, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm, beginning the week of Aug. 24.

The series will kick off with a presentation about “What Dental Facilities are Doing to Make Going to the Dentist Safe” by Eve Cuny, MS, Associate Professor of Diagnostic Sciences and Director of Environmental Health and Safety at the Dugoni School.

Future sessions will feature other health experts on topics such as challenges and opportunities in public health, COVID-19 and nutrition, brain health, insights from social epidemiology to improve health equity, COVID-19 and the pediatric patient, and many other topics.

The program is part of a new University of the Pacific initiative — an exciting and robust schedule of more than 200 online events over the Fall that will explore some of today’s most important issues from social justice to the 2020 presidential election, COVID-19, culture, careers and beyond.

Pacific students from across the country and around the world will be able to meet virtually to learn from world-renowned experts and leading Pacific faculty and alumni every week during the remote activities series.

The series includes activities, conversations, panel discussions, concerts and events to provide an engaging and academically rich educational experience for students and the Pacific community. The weekly sessions will showcase the extraordinary depth and breadth of Pacific’s programs and offerings, and feature our outstanding faculty and staff, as well as offer networking opportunities for future engineers, artists, athletes, teachers, musicians, lawyers, pharmacists, dentists, business leaders, health care professionals and more.
